ISMRM 2026 South AFRICA

If you are attending ISMRM’s annual meeting in Cape Town in 2026, you might be able to claim back the VAT paid on registration fees and other related costs. Individuals can't claim back this sales tax, but companies can, in some cases, recover the VAT paid out in South Africa. To get a VAT refund, a business must register for VAT in South Africa. This means there must also be a taxable activity. Claiming back VAT solely on expenses is not possible without a corresponding taxable activity in South Africa.
